Rivermead Reopening November 24 – Please join us!

Join us for the reopening of our historical headquarters, Rivermead, as we recognize our supporters who have helped us sustain the magic of the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival for 35 years. On November 24 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., we will recognize the generous support for our home base of Rivermead over the years:

-The Government of Ontario and the Ontario Trillium Foundation will be recognized for a $85K capital grant for renovations including stonework, energy efficient windows, and repairing water damage.

-The Angel Gabriel Foundation will be recognized for donating the former Eden Mills United Church, and for supporting initial renovations to the office, kitchen, bathrooms, and our Gabriel non-denominational chapel which serves as our author green room and other community events.

Speakers will include:

-Hon. Ted Arnott, MPP for Wellington Halton Hills

-Theresa Ebden, Chair, Eden Mills Writers’ Festival

-Panel Discussion: Sustaining the Magic – a discussion on the impact of supporting Canadian literature featuring:

Moderator: Judith Pereira, Arts Editor, The Globe and Mail

Madhur Anand, Author & Professor

Nicholas Ruddock, Author & MD

-Damian Weston, Executive Director, Guelph Arts Council

Now in its 36th year, the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival is a magical celebration of literature in a warm, welcoming, and unique setting. Please consider donating to support our festival, which earns only 9% of funds from ticket revenue and has hosted 800 authors in 35 years.

Coffee and light refreshments will be served at 3 pm. We hope to see you there!
