Celia Chandler
Celia Chandler won a Canadian Online Publishing Award for her series on her husband’s medically assisted death on rabble.ca in 2020. That kickstarted her writing. Since then, she’s immersed herself in writing workshops, retreats, lectures, and festivals, including this one. In four years, she’s been shortlisted in a number of contests, including the 2023 International Amy MacRae Award for Memoir, and published in several online publications. Celia left her legal practice in 2022 and now works part-time in the affordable housing sector. But mostly she works on a full-length manuscript about mid-life reinvention from the Toronto laneway suite she built as a room of her own. This is her first public reading and she couldn’t be more thrilled that it’s at Eden Mills!
