Festival Demographics

The Eden Mills Writers’ Festival is an inclusive literary festival that is enjoyed by people and families from across Ontario that have a strong social conscience.

Our audience and the Festival support writers/voices of those individuals who have been historically underrepresented.

In 2022, half of our presenting authors self-identified as Black, Indigenous, or Persons of Colour: 10% identified as LGBTQ2S+ and  4% self identified as a person with a disability.

Impact of 2023 Festival

The festival provides accessible parking, picnic tables, and washrooms, as well as golf carts to transport those with limited mobility throughout the village. ASL Interpretation was provided for all adult programming at “The Meadow” and all programming for children at “The Children’s Nook”.
