Mary Elizabeth Aubé
Mary Elizabeth Aubé won the Sycamore Review’s 2020 Wabash Prize for Fiction for an early version of “Letter in a Mokuk” which is taken from her first novel in progress based on the life of a real Anishinaabe and French woman and her family in the Great Lakes fur trade. Mary Elizabeth has published an essay about her own French-Canadian family, “Running Toward French” in Résonance, the online journal dedicated to Franco-American writing, and many articles in French about books and museum exhibitions in the Toronto newspaper L’Express. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and now lives in Toronto.
