Welcome Kaylee, Emma and Nick! Can you tell us what this book is about?

Emma and Kaylee: The book is about Grand Maud and Maud. When Maud sleeps over at Grand Maud’s house they sleep in twin beds and wear the same night gowns.  They eat dinner watching movies, but only if they are black and white.

Nick: It’s about a little girl called Maud visiting her Grand Maud at her house. She stays there, spending special time with her and thinks about when she’s going to be a grandmother herself.

What do you like about this book?

Emma and Kaylee: We like that Maud goes to Grand Maud’s house on the weekends!

Nick: I liked the little treasure box. It held something special every time for Maud.

What was your favourite part of the story?

Emma and Kaylee: Our favorite parts of the story are when Grand Maud and Maud meet for their sleepover, that they sleep in the same room together and when Maud gets special treasures in her box.

Nick: My favourite part was when they watched black and white movies together, and the memories that Grand Maud has.

What do you like about the illustrations?

Emma and Kaylee: We like how the illustrator drew all the great pictures.

Nick: I liked all the cat pictures! One was on wheels. I liked how the pictures took up the whole page.

Why should other kids read this book?

Emma and Kaylee: Kids should read this book because it’s very nice and makes you feel happy, and has cool pictures.

Nick: Because it shows how much fun kids can have with their grandparents! Also the pictures are beautiful.

If you could ask the author or illustrator a question, what would it be?

Emma and Kaylee: We would ask the illustrator “How do you draw so many pictures?”

Nick: Where did they get the idea for the pictures? Are the cats based on his own cats?!

Thank you Emma, Kaylee and Nick!
