A book review by Yuliana (5) and Alison (4).

Hi Yuliana and Alison! Can you tell us what this book is about?

Yuliana: Harley the Hero goes to school everyday. He stays with the teacher to make her feel better. When Harley the Hero is wearing his vest he can’t play with the kids.

Alison: Harley the dog!

What do you like about this book?

Yuliana: I liked that Ms. Prichard is the best teacher she can be.

Alison: I like the pictures and the doggy.

What is your favourite part of the story and why?

Yuliana: My favourite part is when he goes to school. Every day he comes to school with Ms. Prichard. I don’t have a dog. My teacher has a dog at my virtual classes.

Alison: Harley likes to lick feet.

What do you like about the illustrations?

Yuliana: I liked that he was a big dog. I like the picture when Harley was sitting next to the teacher.

Alison: I like the picture where the girl is running. There is fire and smoke. Somebody’s coming - he’s licking feet!! Harley was a hero. And then the firemen came.

Why should other kids read this book?

Yuliana: Because everyone will like Harley the Hero.

Alison: Because I like it.

If you could ask the author or illustrator a question, what would it be?

Yuliana: I like that the service dog goes to school. Do you know a service dog? What is its name?

Alison: I don’t know - Mummy just read the story!!

Thank you, Yuliana and Alison!
