EMWF Kids: Ga’s/The Train —an event for schools

Presented in partnership with Wellington County Library

Presenter: Jodie Callaghan

School groups, online learners, and families are invited to join us for a special literary event during Ontario Public Library Week.

“I’m waiting for what we lost that day to come back to us.”

Author Jodie Callaghan joins us to present the dual-language edition, in English and Mi'gmaq, of the Silver Birch Express-nominated title, The Train, a story that reflects on the impact of the residential school system.

EMWF Kids: The Fabulous Zed Watson—an event for schools!

Presented in partnership with Wellington County Library

Presenters: Basil and Kevin Sylvester

School groups, online learners, and families are invited to join us for a special literary event during Pride Month.

The Fabulous Zed Watson is the literary scavenger hunt of a lifetime, starring an endlessly endearing non-binary tween. Co-authored by child-parent duo Basil Sylvester and Kevin Sylvester, this is a vibrant and enormous-hearted story about friendship, identity and belonging. It features illustrations by celebrated author and illustrator Kevin Sylvester, and an Own Voices perspective based on Basil’s experience.

Jon Klassen joins us for a special event for school groups, online learners, and families during Canadian Children’s Book Week.
