September 10 – An Afternoon of Author Readings
Enjoy an afternoon of author readings as over 40 of Canada’s top award-winning and emerging authors gather in the village of Eden Mills to read from their latest books in an idyllic outdoor setting.
12:00pm: Head to The Cottage on Barden Street to take part in the opening parade, led by piper Robin Aggus and Town Crier Jenny Kitson.
12:15pm: Listen to the welcome speeches delivered by the Town Crier and Mayor Chris White at the Eden Mills Community Hall.
12:30-5:30: During the afternoon, relax on the grass by the banks of the Eramosa River and enjoy stimulating, thought-provoking and entertaining readings by authors for adults, teens and kids. The festival is proud to feature the literary talent of Terry Fallis, Heather O’Neill, Lisa Moore, Gregory Scofield and Emma Donoghue, among others, as well as works of authors from Guelph’s Vocamus Press and a Poetry Slam Team. Discover new voices, meet the authors at the book-signing table, browse through our book fair on Publishers’ Way, grab a snack at the Food Court, or relax at our (licensed) Open Book Patio!
